Recreation in Central Oregon
Recreation in Central Oregon is at your doorstep. The wonderful people who live in the area are set up to help you find your fun!
There are 2.5 million acres of forest, seven wilderness areas, six rivers, 157 lakes, 1600 miles of trails. And there is the unique landscape of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument. The Monument’s 7,984 ft. Paulina Peak, prominently looks over the town. Scan the Cascades, from California to Washington and the caldera below, with Paulina and East Lakes. Visit Paulina Falls, the Lava Cast Forest and Lava River Cave, with self-guided tours.
The Little Deschutes River flows by La Pine and the Big Deschutes River. Dozens of high lakes are within a few minutes of downtown La Pine.
There are also great annual events to go see. So what’s your interest? Let us help you find the right place to make your outdoor dreams come true!
