La Pine: Gateway to Newberry National Volcanic Monument

La Pine is the Gateway to Oregon’s Other “Crater” …..

which is really a “caldera” – Newberry National Volcanic Monument.  We are excited to be celebrating 25 years of this extraordinary Monument located in our backyard! In collaboration with the Deschutes National Forest, who manage the monument, this will be a year-long celebration with many special events to commemorate the naming and dedication of the Monument in 1991. The celebrations will culminate in a very special Frontier Days 4th of July Celebration in 2016. We hope you join us for as many events as you can … but ultimately you simply MUST experience our “hands-on” monument. Two fabulous lakes, each with their own lodge to enjoy dining and shopping; world class fishing, hiking and bicycle trails; the largest Obsidian Flow in North America; plus some of the best snowmobiling in the Cascades. La Pine is waiting to welcome you to Newberry Country!
